Introducing Our House Coffee: Pico Mirante, Brazil
We’re thrilled to introduce our new House Coffee — a stunning single-origin from Pico Mirante, a farm nestled among the lush mountains of South Minas Gerais, Brazil, just outside the town of Monte Belo.
This coffee comes from Adolfo Vieira Ferreira, who has owned and meticulously managed Pico Mirante for over 40 years. Earlier this year, our Head of Coffee joined the team from Yallah Coffee and Cargo Coffee Importers on a visit to the farm, meeting the producers of one of our house coffees for the very first time.
Walking through the rows of coffee trees with Adolfo himself was an unforgettable experience — a chance to see, firsthand, the dedication and innovation that shape every harvest. His passion for quality, sustainability, and progress radiates through every corner of Pico Mirante, and it’s a privilege to bring this coffee back home to FED.
The 2025 Harvest
During our visit, the pickers were in full swing, and we were lucky enough to cup some of the first pickings of this year’s harvest. The coffees were incredibly fresh — vibrant and full of promise. After a challenging 2024 season, Adolfo was optimistic about the year ahead: yields are up, and quality is looking even better.
The cupping felt particularly special for us, as having the producer, importer, roaster, and café all gathered around the same table is a rare and privileged moment for all.
In the Cup
This lot from Pico Mirante is everything we love about Brazilian coffee — and a perfect fit for our house profile. Expect:
Dark chocolate richness
A bright touch of mandarin
A smooth, almond finish
It has a brilliant balance of richness and acidity and deeply satisfying — exactly what we want our house coffee to be.
Why It Matters
We’ve been buying Adolfo’s coffee from Yallah Coffee for a couple of years now, and every season his coffee stands out as one of the very best in our rotation of house coffees. But now, beginning a direct relationship with Adolfo and Pico Mirante means even more.
It represents what matters most to us at FED:
Long-term partnerships built on trust
Sustainable farming practices that care for people and planet
Genuine respect for the producers behind every bean
We’re so proud to share this coffee with you — not just because it tastes incredible, but because it tells a story we deeply believe.
